September 2007 Annual Highland Games DinnerD'Amante Couser Pellerin & Associates, P.A., and The D'Amante Companies, held it's annual dinner for the heavy weight athletes of the New Hampshire Highland games. The dinner is held each year to honor the athletes with good food, good music and great conversation. The Masters World Championships is the world's strongest open and amateur athletes compete for top honors in the Caber Toss, Sheaf Toss, Hammer Throw, and more. Many of these events have their origins in "tests of strength" that were devised by the Highland Chieftains over 1000 years ago. The Games also feature a special "Strong Man" event, showcasing some of the strongest men in world. The New Hampshire Highland Games is recognized internationally as one of the finest Scottish cultural festivals. Celtic and Gaelic culture is celebrated with competitions in Highland Dance, Scottish fiddle, Solo Piping and Drumming, Clarsach (little harp), Pipe Band, Scottish Heavy Athletics, Sheep Dog Trials, a golf tournament, and the kilted mile race. The Games are sponsored by D'Amante Couser Pellerin & Associates, P.A. and The D'Amante Companies, dedicated to the furtherance of the dance, music, athletics and customs of the Scottish people and to the continuance of the Gaelic culture.
